Welcome To The

 Clearpoint Model Yacht Club
Web Site

The Clearpoint Model Yacht Club was founded for those who love to sail.

The Clearpoint Model Yacht Club is now well established in the Houston/Pasadena/Clear Lake area. The club is just one of over a hundred from all across the U.S that are sanctioned by the American Model Yachting Association. Every year we sponsor a regatta, which is posted on the AMYA Regatta Schedule inviting other R/C sailors from other areas to join in.

The 2 classes of boat that our clubs sail on a regular basis are the Thunder Tiger Victoria and the International One Meter. We even sail a One Meter Landyacht that is a blast.  Occasionally we break out the AC boats as well. The term "Class" means that every boat meets the same measurement specifications as the other boats in the class so as to ensure equal performance and racing competition. It is our hope that you will join us in the hobby and sport of R/C sailing and that you will eventually own a boat of the same class.

Our club meets to sail at least twice a a month weather permitting. Please check our calendar or call us for times. The rules, the layout of the course marks and the procedure we use when racing are identical to those used by sailors of full-scale sailboats.

You are invited to come visit us. We look forward to handing you a transmitter and showing you what fun it is to sail by radio-control.

We typically sail at Burke/Crenshaw Park in Pasadena, Texas but are open to other and new locations.  Always check our site to be sure or get on our e-mail list.
